As per the financial report released by UEFA for the 2021/22 season, FC Barcelona pocketed close to €65 million from their run in the Champions League last season.

It was a forgettable campaign in Europe for the Blaugrana as they crashed out of the Champions League at the group stages itself.

Drawn in a group comprising Bayern Munich, SL Benfica, and Dynamo Kyiv, Barcelona finished third and ended up dropping down to the Europa League.

Under Xavi Hernandez, the Catalans made it as far as the quarter-finals in the secondary competition of European football before being eliminated by eventual winners Eintracht Frankfurt.

Despite their group-stage elimination, Barcelona have pocketed in excess of €64 million from their run in the Champions League.

Going into the breakdown of the figures, the Catalans were granted a sum of €15.64 million for participating in the group stages. On top of that, they earned €6.964 million from their results in group-stage encounters against Bayern, Dynamo Kyiv and Benfica.

Furthermore, the Blaugrana also received an amount of €34.11 million based on their UEFA coefficient ranking.

Along with that, there was also an income of €8.161 million from the market pool. In essence, the market pool refers to the allocation that UEFA makes to each club based on the revenue from audiovisual rights earned from their respective country.

It is split among all teams from the nation based on their league position the previous year and the number of matches they play in the Champions League for that season.

It takes the total for Barcelona to €64.875 million earned from their run in the UEFA Champions League in 2021/22. On top of that, the Catalans also pocketed €6.94 million from their quarter-final run in the Europa League.

Much like last season, Barcelona were eliminated from the group stages of the Champions League this term as well. They did not progress beyond the knockout playoffs in the Europa League either.

But, Barça are on their way to win the La Liga title and have already lifted the Spanish Super Cup, while Copa del Rey is also very much in the grasp.
