Sunday night ended on a disappointing note for FC Barcelona as they managed to return from the game against Granada with just a point and two new fresh fitness issues.

Having gone down two goals in the first half itself, the Blaugrana did well to salvage a draw and rescue a point from the game. But the result leaves them three points behind La Liga leaders Real Madrid.

On top of that, the Blaugrana have to deal with two more new injury problems in the squad.

Kounde withdrawn during Granada clash

Jules Kounde became the first casualty of the night at Los Carmenes as he had to be withdrawn before half-time due to a knee issue, while Lamine Yamal was taken off in the 75th minute due to muscle discomfort.

But Javi Miguel of AS is reporting that there is optimism within the club regarding the injury and the conditions of Kounde.

The report states that as far as Kounde is concerned, there is only talk of a sprain in his left knee, and following initial examinations, any injury to the cruciate ligaments has been ruled out which comes as a major relief.

More tests will be conducted today at the club and if the sprain is confirmed, Kounde will not travel to play for France during the international break.

Instead, the defender will stay back to recuperate with a three-week recovery timeline expected, so that he is ready for the Clasico against Real Madrid.

What about Yamal?

As for Yamal, the youngster felt a pinch in his abductor during the game and asked to be taken off in the 75th minute. Xavi revealed that the player himself asked to be withdrawn after feeling some discomfort.

Like Kounde, he will also undergo tests later today, although the issue does not appear to be anything major.

The manager did insist that the issues did not appear to be serious, but the situation is certainly concerning, given that Barça are already without Pedri, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, and Frenkie de Jong.
