Ronald Araujo’s unwarranted red card against Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of the team’s UEFA Champions League quarterfinal is widely considered the root cause for Barcelona’s exit.

After all, the Blaugranas were in control and boasted a two-goal lead ahead of the unfortunate development and soon collapsed with the one-man deficit.

Speaking to the media after the game, Barcelona star Ilkay Gundogan called out his teammate’s mistake and admitted that they had thrown away a winning advantage.

While his words were not flawed, they understandably did not go down well with Araujo. The Uruguayan hit back at his teammate citing ‘codes and values’ that were not respected.

All is well

As reported by multiple sources over the past 24 hours, there is no disharmony in the dressing room despite the back and forth comments.

Gundogan, in fact, is said to be surprised at some of his teammates’ reaction as he did not intend to single any player out. He will thus make sure that there is no misunderstanding.

According to reports from Victor Navarro, the German star intends to speak for one of the TV channels with rights during today’s media day at the Ciutat Esportiva del Barça and clarify everything.

A public comment and update, thus, is likely to arrive before El Clasico.

Barcelona then train at 11 am, where Gundogan and Araujo will meet and clarify the issue. There is no division of the dressing room, the journalist adds.

No time for division

It is certainly not easy for the Barcelona dressing room to recover from the painful defeat in the UEFA Champions League in a short time.

However, the calendar shows no respite for Barcelona, who are set to face Real Madrid in a critical Clasico this weekend. After all, a Real Madrid win on the night would virtually seal the league title race for Los Blancos.

Considering the tight schedule ahead, Xavi and Co. have no time, now more than ever.
