Barcelona are currently in a hiatus in light of the season’s first international break. The club entered the break with three wins in four La Liga matches.

Barça will restart their season on September 16, as they take on Real Betis. It will be followed by a game against Royal Antwerp in the UEFA Champions League, before they face Celta Vigo and Mallorca in La Liga.

They end the month with a game against Sevilla on September 29.

Barcelona want to reschedule Sevilla game

However, according to RAC1, Barcelona want to reschedule the Sevilla game which is currently scheduled to take place on September 29, Friday.

The Catalans want to play the game on September 30, Saturday, at 2 pm.

As per the report, Barcelona want to reschedule the game due to the Joaquin Sabina concert that is supposed to happen on the same night.

Joaquin Sabina is a Spanish musician, widely regarded as one of the most well-known artists in the country.

Hailing from the Andalusia region, Sabina is expected to perform at Palau Sant Jordi on September 29, in the vicinity of the Montjuic Stadium, which is likely to draw a lot of crowds.

As such, Barcelona naturally do not want the Sevilla game to coincide with the Sabina concert, as it could see them lose out on revenue.

The Catalans, therefore, would request La Liga to reschedule the Sevilla game on Saturday, which could work well for both Sabina and Barcelona.

However, it remains to be seen whether or not La Liga approves the request, keeping in mind they would also have to heed the opinion of Sevilla.

The Spanish giants, after all, have a Champions League game lined up on October 3 against PSV Eindhoven. So it won’t come as a surprise to see the Nervionenses favour a September 29 matchup.
