Ansu Fati’s return to Barcelona is more or less related to who takes up the vacant managerial position at the club. Given that a certain Roberto De Zerbi is among the candidates, Ansu’s return could be considered a fruitful one.

According to a report from SPORT, De Zerbi and Ansu share a very good relationship at Brighton and if the Italian is chosen by the Blaugrana management to succeed Xavi, there are high chances that the young forward will return to Barcelona with a prominent role.

The La Masia graduate is having a decent season at Brighton on loan, scoring four goals and an assist. While he has mostly been used as a substitute by the Italian, his relationship nevertheless remains excellent.

It is said that De Zerbi holds a strong belief in Ansu’s abilities, emphasizing that the player needs to exhibit a resurgence in form and recapture the sensations that once made him an icon at Spotify Camp Nou.

A return on the cards?

Ansu, who had the honour of inheriting Leo Messi’s iconic ’10’ at Barcelona, is tasked with showing his prowess from now until the season’s end as this will more or less determine his Barcelona future if De Zerbi is not chosen by the management.

Meanwhile, the possibility of his return to Barcelona next summer would be extremely high if De Zerbi assumes the managerial role at Barcelona.

For now, Ansu has recovered from all the injury setbacks he has faced this season and the Italian manager is slowly incorporating him into the team. Given that there are still 13 matches to play in the Premier League, a lot can happen with Ansu between now and then.
