After enduring a few tough years in Barcelona and Milan, Sergino Dest seems to have found his groove again upon returning to the Netherlands.

Signed from Ajax in 2020, the USMNT international never really got going at Barcelona and was loaned to AC Milan last season, where he once again struggled.

With no place in Xavi’s plans, the right-back signed for PSV Eindhoven during the summer transfer window and has experienced a turnaround of fortunes back in the Eredivisie.

Dest attracting interest from several clubs

Indeed, Dest has become a permanent fixture in Peter Bosz’s PSV outfit this season, racking up 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring a goal and setting up two more.

And, following his impressive run of form, several clubs across Europe are interested in Dest, reports SPORT.

Following a difficult year in Milan, the 23-year-old’s market value had dropped down to €10 million. But his form at PSV has seen Dest’s valuation shoot back up to €18 million.

Largely used at left-back for the Dutch club, the USMNT star has showcased versatility and adaptability, leading to interest from several clubs in Europe.

PSV have a €10 million purchase clause

But, despite the interest from clubs, PSV have the upper hand when it comes to the future of Dest. After all, they have a €10 million buy option inserted in the loan agreement with Barcelona, which they fully intend to trigger at the end of the season.

The buy option would have been seen as a positive by Barça at the time of the operation in the summer, but with Dest’s performances improving, his value rising, and interest in him growing, the Catalans might feel they could have earned more from his sale.
