Barcelona legend not considering running for club presidency at this moment – report

According to a report from SPORT, former defender Gerard Pique has no intention of running for the presidential position of FC Barcelona anytime in the near future, adding that he wants to stay away from professional football as he is more focused on other projects.
It is believed that Barcelona manager Xavi attended the Moto GP race at the Circuit de Catalunya a few weeks ago where he met a few VIPs, among them was Pique with whom he still maintains a good relationship.
Pique does not miss professional football
During their conversation, the manager didn’t hesitate to inquire if his former teammate and club legend had contemplated a return to Barcelona, possibly as its president — a desire that the former footballer has never concealed. Pique’s response was resolute.
The aforementioned report mentions that Pique has distanced himself from the realm of professional football and currently has no thoughts of a comeback.
His contentment lies in direct involvement with his business endeavours, and the notion of vying for the presidency of Barça in the foreseeable future has not even crossed his mind.
In fact, it is said that he cherishes the distance he has created from football and the yearning for professional football no longer crosses his mind.

The idea isn’t dismissed entirely
Regardless of his current perception, the former defender is not ruling out the idea entirely as his life has presented him with other priorities both professionally and personally.
Away from the spotlight of football, Pique continues to enjoy the peace he has found in actively engaging with his business ventures.
The thought of taking the helm at Barça is currently parked in a distant corner of his thoughts, although he is not entirely ruling out the opportunities.
Pique has talked about it in the past and when the time is right, he will compete for the candidacy, but currently, the time is not right.
