Barcelona jewel reveals the advice that Lionel Messi has given him

It has been extremely weird not seeing Ansu Fati on the pitches, dominating the opposition the way he always does. But while we patiently wait for his return, the youngster had given an interview to Laureus, which was relayed by Barcelona themselves.

When talking to the outlet, Fati revealed some things about himself, his preferences, dreams and childhood heroes. But it was quite interesting to hear about his interaction with Lionel Messi. As the club’s captain, it is Leo’s job to help the youngsters the best he can.

In Fati’s own words, that’s exactly what the Argentine had done already: “What advice has he given me? I try to transmit the same humility as he does. Despite all he was done, he is a very simple man, and the advice he gives is always about keeping your feet on the ground.”

Of course, that doesn’t exactly come as a big surprise, does it? After all, Messi himself knows everything about humility and being a simple man. Still, the greatest gift Leo can give any player, Fati included, is the possibility to learn from him.

“It is a dream to play with the best player in the world and learn from him in training”, the youngster exclaimed in the interview. Messi has no doubt had a big hand in his development and it will be interesting to see their connection grow even further.

For that reason, it also doesn’t surprise that Fati has named the Argentine in his all-time top five players. But while that list consists of many familiar Azulgrana names, there is also one in there that many would not expect.

“That would be Víctor Valdés, Puyol, Xavi or Iniesta, Messi and Cristiano”, said Fati, answering the question about his favourite players.

Of course, Cristiano Ronaldo may not be a Barcelona legend like the other four but he is still one of the all-time greats so Fati admiring him shouldn’t be that surprising. All in all, it is great to see that he looks up to brilliant players and strives to become more like them.

And with the talent he possesses, combined with enough hard work and a little bit of help on the side, maybe one day he’ll have a similar influence on the footballing world.
