Once he is confirmed as the new manager of FC Barcelona, Hansi Flick will be fully involved in the sporting planning that director Deco has been working on for some time heading into the summer.

It has been constantly suggested that Barcelona need to sell at least one big player due to their Financial Fair Play issues.

Names like Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araujo have been touted as possible candidates to be sold, with the club captains yet to respond to renewal offers and attracting significant interest.

No plan to sell key players

However, now, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona do not intend to sell any of the heavyweights at the club, including Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araujo, along with midfield gems Pedri and Gavi.

All four aforementioned players have contracts that expire in 2026. The Blaugrana do not intend to part ways with the stars who they consider pillars of the team for the present and the future and end up shooting themselves in the foot.

Barça are aware of the interest that Araujo is attracting, with Bayern Munich having already made two offers for him in the past, and Chelsea joining them in the last few days.

Furthermore, the defender has not yet responded to the contract proposal that the club had sent him, leading to speculations over his future. But the idea is not to sell him.

In fact, Barça are confident that Araujo will prioritise staying to be an important part of Hansi Flick’s new project.

De Jong has not made any progress on his renewal either, but Barcelona believe he can still make the expected leap in quality after a season in which he has only played 30 games due to injuries.

The Blaugrana have the same opinion about Pedri, whose representatives have been in contact with the club for weeks to extend his contract.

Gavi is another with whom there are no doubts and his return from the ACL injury is expected, although without pressure, as if he were a signing to multiply the competitive hunger of the squad next season.
