There has been a lot of noise over the future of Lionel Messi lately. The Argentine is facing an uncertain summer ahead with his current contract at Paris Saint-Germain expiring at the end of the season.

Messi has yet to commit to another season at PSG despite speculations suggesting a contract renewal. Barcelona are waiting on the wings and are ready to pounce on any opportunity.

Barcelona have fans made it known that they want the forward to return to Catalonia. In the ongoing King’s League event in Camp Nou, the supporters were heard chanting “Lionel Messi” inside the stadium.

The fans are not the only ones batting for Messi’s return either. One of Barcelona’s young players in Arnau Tenas has recently spoken to the media, clamouring for the Argentine’s return to Camp Nou.

“Anyone who thinks that Leo Messi’s return would not be good for the club is not a real culer. He is the best in the world,” Tenas told Catalunya Radio.

Messi has enjoyed a comparatively better season compared to the last season at PSG so far. However, his performances have taken a dip since the turn of the year while PSG’s elimination from the Champions League have not helped the club’s cause either.

This has led to renewed hopes of the attacker’s potential return to Catalonia. Recent reports suggest Messi is keen on learning about the project at Barcelona, under the leadership of his former teammate Xavi Hernandez.

One would expect Messi to come up with a definitive decision on his future in the coming weeks. Until then, Barcelona are going to keep a close eye on the attacker, hoping that the forward finally puts aside his differences with the board, including Joan Laporta, in favour of a fabled return to Catalonia.
