Barcelona are poised to face off against PSG in the Champions League quarterfinals, which promises to be an enthralling affair due to the quality and young vigor both sides possess.

Ahead of the game, there has been tremendous speculation regarding the starting XI of both teams, with Joao Felix having an outside chance of featuring in the lineup for Barça.

While his place is expected to be occupied by Raphinha, the Portuguese left-winger will likely have minutes off the bench at the very least and could prove to be a vital weapon for Xavi, considering his decent track record in big games this season.

Speaking to the media with just a few days left to spare before the clash commences, Joao Felix touched upon the European strikers he holds in the highest regard.

Kylian Mbappe takes the cake

PSG forward Kylian Mbappe will be one of the biggest threats for Barcelona this Wednesday. The Frenchman has a knack for stepping up in big games and also scored four goals over two legs the last time he locked horns with Barça.

Acknowledging his supreme talents, Felix did not use the upcoming encounter as a smokescreen to hide his admiration for Mbappe, stating (Cat Radio), “I think Mbappe is the best striker in the world right now.”

Felix will soon have the opportunity to witness his virtuosity firsthand, with the possibility of experiencing it on a more frequent basis next season should his tenure with Barcelona be extended and if Mbappe makes the move to Real Madrid.

Other strikers Felix appreciates

The 24-year-old shed light on other elite European strikers, name-dropping Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, and his very own teammate Robert Lewandowski.

There is also Harry Kane, Haaland scores a lot of goals, and Robert, in recent years is one of the best strikers. I think these are the best,” Felix concluded.

The Polish talisman has been in fine form since the turn of the year and sits only three goals behind Jude Bellingham in the Pichichi Trophy race.
