Following the departure of Philippe Coutinho, Barcelona are yet to sanction the sale of any notable first-team player.

It is not a good sign for the Catalans as the club are depending on player sales to generate revenue ahead of the new season. But the situation is expected to change in the coming week, with up to two Barça players keen on sealing their fate.

As per Marca, the two players in question are Riqui Puig and Samuel Umtiti. Both the player are aware of their lack of prominence in Xavi’s plans for the new season and are looking to seal their exit before the training begins in early July.

Sealing the sanction of Umtiti could be a tricky task as the Frenchman is currently sitting on a relatively lucrative wage packet that will be difficult to match for other clubs in Europe. They may also take into account, the questionable injury record of the French centre-back.

Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Marseille have expressed the desire to sign Umtiti in the summer, but the two parties are yet to reach an agreement.

Riqui Puig should not find it difficult to attract suitors as he is considered as one of the most talented players in the Barcelona team.

The midfielder, unfortunately, has lacked prominence in Xavi’s setup, with the Spaniard deeming him surplus to the requirements. Puig’s precarious situation has alerted Celta Vigo, among other clubs across Europe.

Puig himself is determined to leave Barça as soon as possible, but with just one week remaining before the season begins, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the technically gifted midfielder.
