Ansu Fati’s career at the highest level has been marked by several serious injuries that have hampered his development into the superstar he was tipped to become when he exploded at Barcelona.

After having endured two injury-riddled campaigns between 2020 and 2022, the La Masia graduate did not get enough minutes under Xavi last season and was sent out on loan to Brighton & Hove Albion this past summer.

Just when things were starting to look up for the Spaniard in the Premier League, he fell prey to yet another injury. Indeed, a thigh injury he sustained last weekend has Fati sidelined for close to three months.

Barcelona continue to trust Fati for the future

Despite his repeating injury problems and the lack of game time he went through last season, Barcelona continue to trust Ansu Fati to come good for the future, reports Radio MARCA.

There had been talk about the Blaugrana hoping that the Spanish forward recovers his form with Brighton so that they could sell him permanently next summer to generate profit.

Rumours of possible interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia had already been doing the rounds as well, with the Catalans needing a big sale to operate freely in the market in the summer of 2024 as well.

But, contrary to those claims, it appears that Barcelona still have faith that Fati can rise above all the fitness issues and fulfil the vast potential he showed in the past, which prompted the club to hand him the iconic #10 shirt after Lionel Messi’s departure.

Fati wants to return and succeed at Barcelona

As far as Fati’s plans for the future are concerned, the 21-year-old ace is not thinking about anything else but returning to Barcelona and succeeding at the club.

For now, though, the 21-year-old is back in Catalonia already and even visited the club’s training facilities to undergo tests for his injury.

Another long recovery awaits the La Masia prodigy and he will be hoping that things go smoothly without any issues and he can soon return to playing football.
