We are just moments away from Barcelona’s big encounter against Osasuna, in the semifinal of the Spanish Super Cup.

While Barça are looking to defend the Super Cup title, it is going to be a crucial game for Osasuna, who had famously reached the final of Copa Del Rey last season.

Speaking ahead of the game, Xavi talked about the kind of encounter he is expecting between these two sides.

“I would like the game to be open and Osasuna to come looking for us up top, one on one, but let’s see what game Jagoba, who is a great coach, proposes,” Xavi said (h/t Barça Universal).

“We have to have the ball. I have told them not to put pressure on us, to play calmly, enjoying it,” he added.

The winner of this game is set to face Real Madrid in the final after Los Blancos secured a 5-3 victory over city rivals Atletico Madrid.

When asked about Real Madrid’s win, Xavi said, “It was a great match. They played a good match and today we hope to put on a good show also.”

Xavi, meanwhile, also highlighted that Barcelona must win the game convincingly if they are to gain a strong momentum before the final.

“From a good game, the results will improve. Not just winning by the minimum,” Xavi said.

The Barcelona coach was also asked about the starting eleven, especially after he decided to start with Ferran Torres, ahead of Joao Felix. Xavi clarified that even though Ferran is starting, Felix will play a role later in the game.

“We start with Ferran, but Félix will have minutes. It doesn’t matter who starts,” the coach clarified.
