According to the ever-reliable Moisés Llorens, the Barcelona meeting of board members concluded with the decision to not resign, and Josep Bartomeu deciding to fight the ‘Vote of No Confidence’.

Josep Maria Bartomeu, who took over the Presidency helm at Barcelona in 2015 was able to easily secure the elections following Barcelona’s treble victory in 2015 under Luis Enrique. Since then, however, the Spanish entrepreneur has been brought under critical scrutiny courtesy of several questionable transfers, disregard for the youth setup, signings done for the purpose of money laundering, and much more.

Following the defeat against Bayern Munich, Bartomeu’s board was called out by several important members associated with Barcelona, including potential presidential candidates, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and most recently Gerard Pique. Socis associated to the club took this as an opportunity to launch a Vote of No Confidence against the current Barcelona administration, which would force a resignation from the board if all stages are to be completed successfully.

Bartomeu has done his level best so far to fight the Vote of No Confidence, which is ready to be moved into its second stage. Recently, however, it was reported that he and his board were considering resignation as to avoid further embarrassment, and met today to discuss the same. Unfortunately for Barcelona fans, though, the decision made by the board is to continue at the club for as long as it is possible and fight the Vote of No Confidence.
