The January transfer window has worked wonders for FC Barcelona as the three new additions in, Adama Traore, Ferran Torres, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have significantly improved the overall quality of the club’s frontline.

Amid their unprecedented success, there have been a few players who have fallen down the pecking order in the process. One of them was Ferran Jutgla, a La Masia graduate, who was featuring constantly in the starting eleven right before mid-January.

He made six league appearances, scoring just one goal. The subsequent addition of the new attackers has now seen him largely ply his trade for the Barcelona B setup.

However, the forward is not ready to give up just yet and is knocking on the door of the first team once again with his exemplary performances in the Barcelona B side.

Since the start of February, Jutgla has scored seven goals in nine matches of Primera Div. R.F.E.F, which is considered the third tier of Spanish football.

The 23-year-old might not be one of the most gifted talents to come out of the Barcelona academy in recent years, but his hard work is paying off, with the youngster making quite an impression with his goalscoring prowess and technical quality.

Jutgla’s fiery form for Barcelona B could be a major boost for Barcelona, who have not found much success in their pursuit of new strikers in the summer.

They have been priced out of a move for Erling Haaland, while Mohamed Salah is unlikely to be available. The Catalans do consider Robert Lewandowski as a target, but there is a growing feeling inside the camp that the club may not sign a new striker at all.

It appears they are willing to back Aubameyang in the new season as the Gabonese international is a seasoned goalscorer.

But with Memphis Depay, Martin Braithwaite, and Luuk de Jong all likely to be axed, Jutgla could have an exciting opportunity to earn a backup role in the first team next season.
