Barcelona attacking trio could be shown the exit door to make way for new signings

Barcelona had a largely successful transfer window last month which saw them sign and register four new players in Dani Alves, Ferran Torres, Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Plans for the summer window are already afoot at Camp Nou, as Xavi Hernandez looks to build a team that can take the club back to their gloried heights of the past.
For that to happen, the Catalan giants will once again need to delve into the market to bolster their squad. And one of the most important targets for Barça at the moment is Erling Haaland. The Norwegian international is easily one of the best forwards in the game currently and is a priority target for Barça.
However, considering that the three signings made in January have led to an overabundance of attacking options, there could be some cuts made in the summer, reports SPORT.
As per the report, Memphis Depay, Luuk de Jong and Martin Braithwaite are set to be shown the doors in the summer in order to make room for the new signings.
Depay signed for Barça only last year on a free transfer and started the season in fine form. However, a loss of form and injuries have prohibited his progress and he is now seen as a player who can be sold in order to bring some cash in, considering that his contract expires in 2023.
As for Depay’s compatriot, de Jong, he was never likely to be signed on a permanent basis even though he impressed in a few outings at the start of the new year. He never fit into the profile of players Xavi wants in his team and will most certainly be offloaded.
The third player who is set to face the axe is Martin Braithwaite. The report states that the manager is impressed by the Dane’s attitude and efforts in training. However, he is not a top-quality winger nor a prolific striker, raising questions over his future in the team.
Braithwaite is believed to be keen on staying at Camp Nou, but the club could force him out as they set things up for their dream frontline of Ferran Torres, Erling Haaland and Ansu Fati.
