A recent report from SPORT1 (h/t Diario SPORT) has offered an update on Youssoufa Moukoko’s transfer saga.

The Borussia Dortmund starlet is among the hottest prospects in the market right now, with a host of clubs interested in his services. Barcelona are believed to be one of them, as the Catalans look to secure his deal on a free transfer this coming summer.

The report from SPORT1, though, suggests Moukoko is keen on continuing at Dortmund. Although the negotiations are not on the right track, the player believes a prolonged stay at Signal Iduna Park could be the most logical move as Dortmund are expected to offer him regular game-time.

The primary reason behind delayed talks is that Moukoko is holding out for a contract worth more than ̉€3 million. He is also holding out for a signing bonus, knowing his contract expires at the end of the season.

Dortmund are not willing to hand him a signing bonus, but they are expected to talk things out with Moukoko’s representatives in the next meeting.

Moukoko, for his part, is likely to renew with a low release clause that will allow other clubs to sign him relatively easily in the future. If the German fails to renew with Dortmund this year, he is only willing to join FC Barcelona.

This comes after speculations over Newcastle United offering a lucrative contract for Moukoko, involving a whopping €30 million signing bonus. But it appears the player has his heart set on a move to Camp Nou, should he leave Dortmund in the near future.

For the time being, the German phenom is expected to talk things out with Dortmund and prolong his stay at Signal Iduna Park.
