According to Xavi Hernandez Navarro of ARA, Barcelona and Ousmane Dembele are on the verge of reaching an agreement for his departure to Paris Saint-Germain.

Dembele has everything in place to join PSG and had even flown to the French capital last week to complete his transfer.

However, the move was delayed due to the Blaugrana not sending all the requisite documents, which led to Dembele even returning to Barcelona to train with the first team again.

The delay was understood to be because of a disagreement between the player and the club over the split of the €50 million transfer fee that PSG will be paying.

Dembele and his entourage are holding out for 50% of the fees as per the terms agreed in his contract, but Barcelona believe that he is not entitled to that sum as he has not met several key parameters.

However, as per the aforementioned report, Barcelona and Dembele are now close to reaching an agreement that will finalise his departure to PSG.

The Blaugrana are eager to speed up the exit because of two reasons – for starters, they do not want Dembele to be gone before the players are presented later tonight ahead of the Joan Gamper Trophy match.

Beyond that, the La Liga champions also need the revenue from his sale to ensure the registration of new signings and renewals, which is a priority, especially with the season starting in less than week.

As such. the Catalans are now pushing to reach an agreement with Dembele and his camp over the sharing of the transfer fee, with it being close now.
