Barcelona ace feels ‘cheated’ with exit rumours, plans to retire at the club

The transfer deadline day at FC Barcelona has been dominated by speculations over Marcos Alonso, who is expected to join from Chelsea.
The Spaniard should join the club as part of Xavi’s plans to reinforce the left-back unit. The Barcelona coach wants to add more competition and backup for Jordi Alba, who has not had the best of starts to the season.
A recent report from Catalunya Radio even suggests that the veteran is not exactly happy at FC Barcelona. The defender feels he has been cheated by the club after learning that the Catalans had reportedly offered him to Inter Milan.
Alba’s agent had recently received a call from one of the intermediaries of the Alonso deal, informing him of the interest from Inter.
Alba’s representatives were extremely frustrated with Barça when they learned that it was the Catalans who had offered Inter the opportunity to sign the player a couple of days before the deadline.
The entire ordeal comes in the midst of transfer speculations linking Alonso to a move to Camp Nou, while Alba himself has endured a poor start to the season, notably struggling to perform in the opening game against Rayo Vallecano.
The veteran’s poor display in the opening fixture had left Xavi frustrated, eventually compelling the Barcelona coach to try his luck on Alejandro Balde in the next few matches.
Balde has taken full advantage of his opportunities as well and remains ahead of Alba in the pecking order. The potential addition of Alonso could further complicate things, as far as Alba are concerned.
However, the Barcelona superstar remains confident of his role in the team and is not thinking about leaving Camp Nou anytime soon. He wants to fight for his place in the team, with the objective to end his career in Catalunya.
