Ez Abde, who joined Barcelona in 2021, is all set to renew his contract with the and journalist Gerard Romero has mentioned that once those formalities are done, the 20-year-old will be loaned out for the new season.

Abde’s ongoing situation has attracted a lot of attention, especially from the fellow La Liga sides. Newly promoted Girona have set their sights on the youngster as they believe his profile can match their ambitions for the upcoming season.

The idea to sign Abde in 2021 was to initially reinforce Barcelona B. But with the senior squad struggling through injuries, the 20-year-old was called upon for as many as 10 La Liga games before being sent back to the reserves.

His performances in Primera Division RFEF were particularly impressive where he scored three and assisted seven in 21 league games. His quality performance has alerted several top teams and Romero believes Sevilla are one of them.

Now, it’s important to note that a renewal would not mean the winger will continue to work under Xavi. On the contrary, he will be sent on loan as there is simply not enough space for him to get regular first-team minutes.

All this because Ousmane Dembele has signed his new contract and even Raphinha has finally arrived from Leeds United.

Hence, the best possible course of action for everyone involved is to part ways, temporarily enough. And for that, Julen Lopetegui’s Sevilla could be one of the destinations.

In fact, Abde joining Sevilla would be a win-win situation for everyone involved as this deal could help Barcelona in acquiring Jules Kounde at a relatively low cost. It is, indeed, a long shot but everyone will benefit from this approach.

For now, the priority is to get all the contractual formalities done before planning a temporary departure.
